One person has been reportedly killed in the fight that broke out between two factions of the National Union Of Road Transport Workers, NURTW in Akure, ondo State capital.
The deceased said to be a member of the union and identified as Shaina was allegedly shot during the fraca.
Radio Nigeria gathered that the drivers were fighting over management of parks even after the Ondo state government had ordered the suspension of driver’s unions activities in the state.
The unionists on Tuesday caused pandemonium around oja oba area, on Adesida Road by shooting sporadically while residents and traders scampered to safety.
This came barely 48hours after the factional unionists fought at Owode area of the state, injuring many people.
As at the time of filing this report, Vehicular movement and business activities around the area oja oba, Adesida Road, Fiwasaye and Old garage have been brought to a halt as a result of the NURTW Fraca.
Few Security personnel were seen around the areas affected by the development.
