The Conference of Speakers of State Legislatures of Nigeria, CSSLN, has identified Community Policing as the way to tackle security problems being experienced.
To this end, the Conference has called on the Federal Government to strengthen security architecture in the country to reflect the demographic reality of the nation.
These were parts of the resolution reached at the end of CLSSN’s 2021 first quarter meeting held in Bauchi.

Chairman of the conference who is also the Speaker Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Sulaiman commended the efforts of the federal government towards fighting insecurity in the Country hence the need to prioritize crime prevention.
Abubakar Sulaiman stated that the conference also wants all the States Houses of Assembly to ensure passage of the Funds Management Bill in their respective states for effective implementation of the Financial Autonomy for the State Legislature and Judiciary.
On the issue of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria PASAN, The chairman of the Conference urged all members to exercise patience on their struggle noting that a committee has been set up to engage the Association with a view to reviewing the lingering issues that led to the nationwide industrial action.
The Conference of Speakers paid a courtesy visit to the State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed, the Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu and also inspected some selected projects executed by the State Government.
