Ifira Akoko a town in Akoko South east local government of Ondo state witnessed a sorrowful Easter celebration due to the discovery of the lifeless body of a notable son of the town, Pastor Fredrick ojo Aramuwa.

The 50 year old Lagos based pastor who was coming home with his drivers had not been seen since the 31st of march.

It was later found out that the deceased pastor was abducted few kilometres to Ifira his home town along Ipele to Idoani to Ifira road.

Contacts were made to Lagos where they confirmed his departure.

The community reported to divisional police in Isua and also started a search effort.

A source in the community said the abductors agreed to collect 10million naira at the initial state but due to negotiations was reduced to 2million Naira and was paid.

But the lifeless body of the pastor was recovered. It couldn’t be ascertained whether he was tortured or strangulated to death but the body had been deposited at the morgue of Ipe Akoko General hospital.

According to our source, the late pastor mother who was over 80 year old had been living with the late pastor in Lagos over the years while the octogenarian father pa Aramuwa is the oldest man in the community.

In his reaction the Asiwaju of Ifira Akoko chief Boboye Ojomo described the incident as sorrowful and tragic when one considered the personality of the late pastor in the town and the old age of the surviving parents.

Chief Boboye appealed to government to intensify efforts to rehabilitate orita Ipele Idoani Ifira deplorable road which had become a major point for incessant kidnapping and robberies in the area.

Efforts to speak with the divisional police officer Isua Akoko were unsuccessful but a police officer who did not want his name mentioned confirmed the incident and said that corpse of the pastor had been deposited at the mortuary.
