A sports Reporter with the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, in Ondo state, Isaac Afolabi has been conferred with an award of Sports Ambassador by CFAS Sports Global Institute Akure, Ondo state.
During the award presentation in Akure, the director of the institution and a CAF licensed coach Rev. Oluwaferanmi Olarewaju said the award was in recognition of Mr Afolabi’s passion and sacrifices for the development of sports in the state and the nation at large.
Rev. Olarewaju who noted that he had been monitoring the reportage and presentation of sports news by the award winning sports reporter also commended him for floating a non governmental BLITZIK SPORTS, which is committed to developing sports and encouraging talents even as they continue with their education.
The clergyman noted that the yearly event had impacted lives of sportsmen and women especially kids to discover their hidden talents.
Rev. Olanrewaju used the occasion to charge government and other organizations to partner sports loving individuals in developing sports in the country.
Responding, the award recipient, Mr Isaac Afolabi while appreciating the recognition said government was yet to identify the enormous advantages in sports which he noted had the ability to engage youths, improve health and earn the state and nation huge revenue if well attended to.
Mr Afolabi who is the facilitator of BLITZIK SPORTS said the NGO will continue to pass its messages to everyone and improve on its yearly activities in all sports.
Afolabi who is also the Assistant Secretary of Sports Writer Association of Nigeria, SWAN Ondo state chapter, however pledged not to relent in investing in sports and human development as well as rendering services as good ambassador of sports.
