A suspected herbalist, Micheal Omolayo on Friday escaped being lynched by some irate residents of Oke-emesho in Akure, Ondo State after being alleged of packing some human hair from a barber shop in the area for ritual purpose.

Mr Omolayo, a septugenarian was said to  have received the hair from a woman who had assisted the man to pack the hair of some clients of the barber simply referred to as Desmond.

But luck run against him as he was sighted by some residents who immediately raised alarm.

Positive fm gathered that some of the people attempted to lynch the suspected herbalist but were prevented by others who thereafter went to search the septugenarian’s house.

It was gathered that some fetish objects were found in the house and this prompted the head of the community, Chief James Abiodun to Order his arrest and be taken to the Deji’s palace along with the fetish objects saying the issue could only be resolved through traditional means.

Positive fm further learnt that the woman who was seen handing over the human hair to the suspected herbalist confessed to the allegation at the Deji’s Palace.

Reacting, the Chief press Secretary to the monarch, Mr Micheal Adeyeye confirmed the incident and disclosed that the Deji, Oba Aladelusi Aladetoyinbo had ordered thorough investigation into the matter with a view to handing it the traditional way.

Mr Adeyeye also confirmed that fetish objects were recovered from the septugenarian’s house.
