As Nigeria joins the rest of the world to celebrate United Nations world bicycle day, the federal government has been advised to create an alternative route for cyclists to avoid accidents.

The Ilesa unit commanader of the Federal Road Safety Corp, FRSC, Mr Olufemi Buraimo gave the advice at the end of a 2 Kilometer cycling exercise by the corps in Ilesa, Osun State.

Mr Buraimo urged Nigerians to revisit riding bicycle as an alternative means of transportation to reduce emission from motorized transportation and pollution.

On other benefits embided in cycling, the unit commander said it was cost effective and a physical exercise that fast track healthy growth of the people, irrespective of age.

The program was co-propergated by FRSC cycling Federation of Nigeria to promote Non-existant motorized transportation in collaboration with Federal ministry of transportation.
