Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State says the current social vices in the country will be a thing of the past once the youths are gainfully engaged
He stated this in Akure at the Lauch of ondo-ngage digital training programme for three thousand young graduates from Ondo State.
Governor Akeredolu who argued that idle hands could hardly contribute meaningfully to the society said it was high time Nigerian youths were positively engaged.
The governor however encouraged the youths to be digitally vibrant and to also contribute meaningfully to themselves and the society.
Governor Akeredolu maintained that three thousand unemployed graduates would be trained on digital economy with thirty thousand naira monthly stipend during the nine months training
The governor hinted that the beneficiaries would be provided with soft loans among other operational gadgets and encouraged them to take the training more seriously
Two of the participants, Mr Igbasan Abayomi and Olarimiwa Ashimolowo appreciated the state government for the opportunity with optimism that the program would further eradicate poverty and make them self-reliant
