Nigeria needs to urgently develop its natural resources to attract more revenue in view of the dwindling global economy.
The member representing Akoko North West and North East in the house of Representatives, Mr Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo gave the advice while delivering the first NTA Akure Forum Lecture, held at the International culture and event centre, the dome, Igbatoro road Akure.

In the lecture titled “Good governance and corruption in the face of insecurity: The imperative of youth involvement” Mr Tunji-Ojo said Nigerian leaders should strive to bequeath a wealthy future to the youths as the current level of poverty in the country had become worrisome.
The lawmaker identified Insecurity and corruption as the bane of good governance calling for a drastic solution to save the nation from disintegrating.
The mother of the day and wife of Ondo state Governor, Mrs Betty Anyawu Akeredolu stressed the need for youths to shun social vices especially Internet fraud popularly called “yahoo yahoo”, and embrace a decent way of life that could get them qualified for leadership roles in the society.

Chairman at the occasion and founder, Achievers University owo, Dr Bode Ayorinde said media organisations should work more on presenting programmes and news contents that would speak against tribalism and ethnic sentiment which he noted was currently causing bloodshed in the country.
The Director general of NTA, Mr Yakubu Ibn Muhammed represented by the Director of Benin Network centre, Mrs Pauline Igbanor said NTA was poised for the Reportage of quality contents that would unite Nigeria and not disintegrate it.

Earlier in an address of welcome, The general manager, NTA Akure, Mr Segun Ojelade had explained that the lecture was organised as part of the station’s responsibility of keep the public abreast of developments in the country and help them to make informed decisions about matters that affect them.

The event featured the conferement of award on some eminent Nigerians among whom were Mrs Betty Anyawu-Akeredolu, The Olugbo of Ugbo, Oba Fredrick Akinruntan, Secretary to Ondo state government, Princess Oladunni Odu among others.
