Artisans contribute eighty five percent to the economy of Ondo State.

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu disclosed this at the 2021 Artisans day, held at the international culture and events centre, the dome, in Akure.

The event tagged, “celebration of professional, skilled and vocational workers,” is part of the activities to mark the one hundred days of Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in office.

Governor Akeredolu maintained that the artisans took the larger percentage of the labour force thus rendering higher percentage of services across the state.

The governor however decried situations where Artisans had been invited from either neighbouring states or countries owing to the alleged bad attitude of some of artisans within the state.

On soft loans offered them by government, governor Akeredolu urged those still owing to begin repayment stating that over two hundred and twenty-five million naira had not been recovered from debtors.
