The 2021 week of the Nigeria Association Of Women Journalists, Ondo state has kicked off in Akure with a Thanksgiving service.
The service held at the Agape Christians Ministry, Possibility ground Akure was well by female journalists who were clad in green and orange colour attires.
In a sermon, A guest preacher, Dr Bible Davids said God is merciful and that He favours His children at His appointed time.
Dr Davids admonished Christians to be prayerful and have faith in God to overcome the challenges of life.
Chairperson of NAWOJ in Ondo state, Mrs Doris Olumoko appreciated God for His mercy and protection over members of the association.
Mrs Olumoko called on journalists in the state to rally round NAWOJ for its week long activities to record huge success.
The thanksgiving service was attended by Ondo NUJ Chairman, Prince Adetona Aderoboye and some friends of NAWOJ in the state.
Meanwhile, The Ondo NAWOJ 2021 will be formally declared open on Monday June 21, 2021 at the Royal birds Hotels and towers, Alagbaka Akure with training and capacity building for journalists.
Time of the event is 9 o clock in the morning.

Empowerement of widows to commemorate this year’s International widows day is slated for Wednesday at the NUJ press centre by 9 o’clock in the morning.
There will be dinner and award night on Thursday at the NUJ press centre Alagbaka by five o clock in the evening while the week long event shall be rounded off on Friday with a Jumat service at the Akure central mosque by 1pm.
