The federal government has extended the administration of second dose of the covid19 vaccine to 5th of July 2021.

The administration of the 2nd dose was to close on the 25th of June, 2021.

The Executive Director National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, NPHCDA, Dr Fiasal Shuaib made this known at the weekly press briefing of the covid19 vaccination update in Abuja.

Dr Shuaib said the Federal Government was committed to ensuring every eligible person in the country was vaccinated against COVID-19, hence the Vaccination of  2,099,568 people with the first dose while 1,005,234 have received the second dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.

The Executive Director urged all who have received their first dose on or before May 13 this year to visit the nearest vaccination centre to receive their second dose as soon as possible, for full protection against COVID-19.

The Executive Director NPHCDA however decried that the Nation had experienced great frustration regarding vaccine supply as there had been great inequity in terms of distribution.

Dr Faisal explained that Most countries of the world had received few, and in some cases no, vaccines, he then called on international partners to help address the problem urgently.
