The Federal Government has announced that the self acclaimed leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has been intercepted by the operatives of Nigeria’s Security Intelligence.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, who made the disclosure at a joint press briefing with Head of the Department of Security Services and the Inspector General of Police, said Mazi Kanu would be taken to court to continue with his trial.

Kanu was on the 14th of October 2015, arraigned by the Federal Government over allegations of terrorism, money laundering and treason.

On the 28th of March 2018, his bail condition was revoked by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court.
