The Federal government has appointed 42 Royal Fathers as Chancellors to Federal Universities across the nation for effective service delivery and national development.

Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu at a press briefing in Abuja who made this known, said the Royal Fathers were taken from their kingdoms and primary constituencies to other kingdoms in a bid to cementing relationships across Nigeria.

Among the appointed Chancellors are;  Sultan of Sokoto, H.E Alhaji Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III for Universityof Ibadan, The Ooni of Ife, HRM Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi for University of Nigeria Nsuka and HRM Igwe Ambassador Lawrence Agubuzu, Ogbunechendo, Ezema Olo Kingdom for Federal University Kashere, Gombe State,

Others are; HRM. Tor Tiv, Prof. James Ayatse for University of Benin,  Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero for University of Calabar and HRH. The Etsu Nupe, Alhaji Yahaya Abubakar for Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife among others.

The Minister of Education, Alhaji Adamu Adamu added that the chancellors shall be presented to the university community at an investiture ceremony to be organised by the various universities.
