President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Dr. Adamu Abdulhamid, as Nigerian Ambassador to the World Trade Organization, WTO for a tenure of four years.
This is contained in letter from the office of the Chief-of-Staff to the President, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, to the Minister of Industry Trade and Investment, Otunba Adeniyi Adebayo.
Until his appointment, Dr. Abdulhamid was the Acting Head, Chargé d’ Affaires of Nigeria Trade Office to the WTO, Geneva, Switzerland.
In a statement, Otunba Adebayo charged the new ambassador to cooperate with the Director-General of the Organization, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, members of WTO and other International Organizations to boost Nigeria’s trade globally.
