History was made in the ancient town of Irun Akoko, Akoko Northwest local government are of Ondo state on Saturday when the newly selected onirun of Irun, Prince Samuel Agboola stepped the palace as part of his installation rites.
It was very historical because eleven years ago late Oba Williams Adeusi joined his ancestors and since then, the town which sits in Ondo state, Southwest Nigeria had been without a traditional ruler.
Two weeks ago Positive fm reported the news of the selection of Prince Agboola after securing the votes of five out of the eight kingmakers in Irun Akoko.
Speaking on his arrival at the Palace, Prince Agboola described his selection as a new dawn that would bring unity and accelerate development in the comunity.
Hundeds of residents trooped out in colourful attires, amid wild jubilation and with traditional music to usher the monarch into the palace.
