Thousands of Lagosians may have been rendered homeless following hours of downpour that caused heavy flooding across the State.
The heavy rain, the highest in the year, started gradually around noon and after about an hour came in large torrents, lasting till past five o’clock in the evening.
Consequently, most neighborhoods and roads , both in the mainland and Islands were submerged.
The flood did not show respect to anyone or class as even the high brow areas of Ikoyi, Lekki and others had their share of the disasters , with many people seen spending hours bailing water from their flooded rooms and shops.
Sights of people wading through flooded neighbours were common.
At Maza-maza, Mile Two, Satellite Town and Agboju , all in Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, families were seen making frantic efforts to save their properties from their flooded apartments.
At some points, the flood water reached the window levels of some houses.
