Alade in Idanre local government area of Ondo State played host to dignitaries from far and near on Saturday for a Thanksgiving service in honour of the late monarch of the ancient town, Oba Olusegun Akinbola.
The Aladeokun, Oba Akinbola joined his ancestors on the 15th of October, 2020 after spending 25yrs on the throne.
St Andrew’s Anglican Church, Alade-Idanre, venue of the thanksgiving hosted politicians, captains of industry and some Staff of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-ife where the late Monarch lectured before ascending the throne of his forefathers.
In a sermon, the Bishop of Akure Anglican Diocese, Right Reverend Simeon Borokini described the late Oba Akinbola as a traditional ruler who served God and his people passionately.
Bishop Borokini called on people to reduce their love for worldly materials so as not to miss heaven.
The clergyman also enjoined Christians to imbibe the teachings of Jesus Christ which include humility, generosity and selfless services to humanity.
