Normalcy has returned to the Federal University of Technology Akure, FUTA after the protest that rocked the Campus on Tuesday over the death of a student, Adeyinka Daniel.

The deceased, a 200-level- student of Software Engineering Department along with four others were involved in an accident off campus on Monday.

While the four others survived the accident with injuries, Adeyinka Daniel was unlucky as he died even while efforts were being made to save his life.

The students alleged that their colleague died due to what they called negligence on the part of some staff of the institution and barricaded one of the institution’s main gate, made bonfires to express their grievances and distrupted vehicular movements on the expressway for hours.

Addressing the protesters, the vice Chancellor, Professor Joseph Fuwape expressed sadness over the sudden death of Adeyinka Daniel, asking the students to allow the management to look into the allegations which necessitated their protest.

Positive fm gathered that the students have since returned to their hostels why normal activities have also returned to the institution.
