There was palpable tension in Ikare Akoko, Akoko Area Of Ondo State on Friday when muslim faithful met the central mosque in the town under lock.

The faithful went back home as no jumat service could hold.

Also, There were notices pasted on the  two major gates leading to the big mosques.

The notices were purportedly issued by the olukare of Ikare,  Oba Saliu Akadiri momoh urging worshippers to stay away because of the tension in the town over supremacy crisis between two Islamic leaders.

Positive fm gathered that the supremacy crisis had been on between the two  leaders for sometime now.

It was also learnt that security operatives had been involved in the matter.

This led to the presence of security agents at jumat held on the last Friday in July, 2021 to avoid any breakdown of law and order.

Efforts to get comments from olukare of Ikare, the chief Imam of Ikare and the divisional police officer for Ikare were unsuccessful.
