The prediction of Nigerian Meteorological Agency on this year’s flooding involving thirty three states of Nigeria including Ondo state is now manifesting in Akoko area of Ondo state as flood is currently ravaging the ancient town.
Other towns being affected by flood are Irun, Ikare, Akungba, oka, Arigidi and okeagbe Akoko.
When Positive fm visited the towns, Fences of many houses had collapsed, bridges washed away, farm crops destroyed while many roads became impassable.
At Irun Akoko some houses.were submerged while River Dada at semusemu for some days now had overflown its bank making it difficult for comutters to pass.
A resident of Irun Akoko, Mr Tunde Babasanya said the situation might be connected with the influx of lorries plying the Arigidi-okeagbe-oyin-omuo thus destroying the ongoing construction work on the road, leading to flooding.
Also reacting, the regent of Akunu Akoko Princess Tolani Orogun appealed to the lorry drivers to temporarily divert to Other routes to allow contractors handling the ongoing road projects to complete it.
