Aponmu community is one of the ancient communities in Akure South Local government but the community is being threatened by incessant flood.
The heavy rains of few days have caused flooding in the community leading to the collapse of many house and farm lands been eroded.
One of the community leaders and the imam of Aponmu mosque Mallam Mukaila Ashiru said the ugly situation had caused sorrow in the community as residents had nowhere to relocate after their house they built many decades ago had been submerged.
Mallam Ashiru appealed to Ondo state government to come to their aid by embarking on proper channelisation of the area and also assess the level of damage with a view to assiting victims.
