The Executive Chairman of Idanre Local Government, Prince Kayode Aroloye has ordered the immediate evacuation of flood prone areas in Alade Idanre Area of Ondo State .
Prince Aroloye gave the order when he visited flood victims at Oke Mapo near the “Uwori Stream on Alade Idanre/Akure road.

He said it was unfortunate that people against advice always chose to build their houses on flood plain which often put them and their property at risk
The council boss disclosed that government would however not fold it’s arms and watch the destruction of lives and property but would do all within it’s means to prevent such calamity .
Prince Aroloye went round the flooded streets in company of the DPO, Olofin Divisional Police Station, Idanre, Mr Clement Akinola , the Speaker of the local Government Legislature , Mr Gbodi Bidemi , many other government officials and sympathizers.

During the visit , two of the residents whose house were taken over by flood but refused to vacate the sinking building were rescued and taken to an hotel with their feeding expenses taken over by the council boss.
The victims , one Mrs Folayemi and her 21years old son, Bright Akinsola had refused to vacate their house taken over by flood until the rescue team on the order of Prince Aroloye forcefully evicted them to a safer but temporary accommodation till a proper arrangement is made for the duo.

Weather agencies in Nigeria have released forecasts of flash floods in many parts of the country in the later part of the year.
