Idanre local government Council in Ondo state has commenced the dredging of flood prone areas in its communities with amphibian equipment facilitated into the area by the Chairman, Prince Kayode Aroloye.

Some houses in Idanre, especially Alade were two weeks ago ravaged by flood, during which houses and other valuables worth millions of Naira were submerged.

Chairman of the council, Prince Aroloye swiflty responded to the situation by relocating victims to a safe place.

The huge machine commenced its clearing assignment from Oke Odunwo Street in Odode Idanre.

The amphibian equipment

This attracted residents who showered encomiums on the council boss for taking drastic steps to end flooding in the community.

One of them, a community leader, Dr. Olaiya Ayewamide appreciated the council boss for having the welfare of the people at heart despite what he described as paucity of fund in the council.

Dr. Olaiya commended Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Councillors and Owa of Idanre, Oba Fredrick Aroloye for their support to the local government.

Also speaking, another resident, Deacon Tokunbo Adesuyan, said the Chairman had once again kept his promise of giving a new lease of life to people of the area.

Present at the exercise with the council Chairman were the Councillor for Isalu/ Jigbokin Ward, Hon. Olalekan Olatuja, and Speaker of the Local Government Legislative arm. Hon. Gbodi Bidemi.
