Clampdown on both private and commercial vehicles and motorcycles without valid papers and licenses is to begin in earnest in Ondo State.

The Senior Special Assitant to Governor Akeredolu on special duties and strategy Dr Doyin Odebowale made this known at a forum in Akure.

Dr Odebowale also announced that vehicles used for commercial purposes without the approved colour would be impounded.

Also speaking , the Chairman Ondo state internal revenue, Mr Tolu Adegbie disclosed that eighty percent of drivers in Ondo state from records had no valid drivers license , a situation he said was dangerous for traffic safety.

Contributing, the director VIO , Mr Adeleye said his men would enforce the rule immediately while the FRSC head of driver’s license section , Mr Kelvin Lasisi expressed the readiness of the corps to fastrack processing of the documents.

The permanent secretary , ministry of transport Mr Kayode Ogundele however said government was much more concerned about the safety and security of the people hence the enforcement of the rule.

He advised motorists and motorcyclists to do the needful and avoid harassment.
