The Executive Chairman of Idanre Local Government Area, Hon Prince Kayode Adebambo Aroloye has been presented with an award as the best Chairman in Ondo State.

The Idanre council Chairman who was singled out for recognition amidst all the 18 local government chairmen in Ondo State and awarded the best Chairman in that category, was picked after a tedious empirical survey of the activities of local government administration in Ondo State.

Aroloye was said to have done justice to governance and delivered on his campaign promises to the people of Idanre Local Government in the last one year in office.

Several of his achievements in all sectors were assessed in comparison with other local government areas in the state before arriving at the conclusion that Aroloye deserves to be awarded.

The presentation of the award took place at the National Merit House Abuja, where dignitaries from across the country were in attendance.

Some of the dignitaries included numerous traditional rulers from different states of the country, the Senator representing the people of Kogi central at the National Assembly, Senator Yakub Useni, the Rector of Kogi State Polytechnic, Dr. Usman Ogbo several honourable commissioners, several political party leaders of the APC and PDP, some speakers and deputy speakers of state houses of assemblies, numerous councilors and many more.

Aroloye was accompanied to the venue of the award presentation by the Chairperson of Idanre Local Government Area, Princess Dora Kayode Aroloye the immediate past commissioner for culture and tourism in ondo state, Hon. Yemi Olowolabi,  Deputy Leader of the legislative arm of Government in Idanre Local Government Area, Hon Ige Akinnaso, Hon. Leye, Hon Akinlalu Olaleye Victor the NULGE Chairman in Idanre Local Government, Comr. Robert Adeyosoye, Mr. Adeuti Ayodeji, Mrs. Funbi Oludele, Deacon Ojo Akintola Akins Barr. Asowo Oladele Shosilver, Mr. Leo Akinbowale Akinya and many others

The colourful event which brought the name of Idanre to National recognition again, had several other awardees who were equally recognised as best performing local government chairmen in their respective states across the Federation, some of them includes: Hon. Anthony Dyegeh, the Executive Chairman of Makurdi Local Government Area of Benue State, Hon. Chief Funmilayo Akande Muhammed, the Executive Chairman of Apapa/Iganmu LCDA, Lagos State, Hon. Dr. Sylvester Effiong Attah, Executive Chairman of Okobo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State and many others.

In his welcome address, the National Coordinator, Nigerian Local Government Chairmen Merit Award (LOGMA) and CEO, Mentors Communications Limited, Chief Bayode Ojo, welcomed and congratulated all the awardees for doing exceptionally in their respective Local Government Areas.

He noted, that the Local Government Administration was the closest to the people, hence the need to encourage qualitative performance of public office holders in this category.

Chief Ojo however emphasised the need for the autonomy of the Local Government administration in Nigeria for effective performance and the extension of good governance to the grassroots stating that, the award was strictly given based on merit and it was the product of qualitative findings through survey.

“Mr Chairman, ladies and gentlemen, today’s conferment is a product of our field experience and empirical survey of the activities of local government from across the Federation.”

“The selection process that led to the final emergence of today awardees are quite tedious. This is because award has been bastardised in our clime; whereas the value of an award is not only in the name or platform but also in the award process and general acceptance of its credibility.” Chief Bayo Ojo said.

Upon the receipt of the award which was handed over to him by Senator Yakub Useni, Aroloye dedicated it to Almighty God, his family, the progressive party APC, leaders of APC in Ondo State and Idanre Local Government in particular, his personal aides, Honourable Councilors of the local government and every Idanre indigenes across the Globe.

He hence appreciated them for their support and encouragement for him in the last one year, promising to continue to serve the people diligently as efforts will be doubled in this regard.

Hon. Ige Akinnaso (Mandator) and Comr. Robert Adeyosoye who reacted in similar statements appreciated the organisers for doing a thorough scrutiny of the local government administration across the country and rating various Executive Chairmen for recognition. They noted that Prince Kayode Aroloye merited the award because of his performance in all sectors since he assumed office in the last one year.

They noted that his emergence was divinely orchestrated and the result is what everyone at the National Merit House came to celebrate. They  Congratulated the Chairman for making Idanre people proud and advised him to continue in that direction.
