The federal government of Nigeria has reeled out activities to mark the nation’s 61st anniversary.

Addressing journalists at the National Press Centre Abuja, Representative of the Minister of Information and Culture, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr Ifeoma Anyawutaku explained that the 61st independence should prompt Nigerians to appreciate the contributions of patriots towards the growth of the nation.

Dr Anyawutaku said President Muhammadu Buhari approved the following activities; Special Interdenominational Church Service for September 26, at National Christian Centre by 2pm, Special Award Ceremony/Discover Nigeria for September 30 by 6pm at the Presidential Villa.

Anniversary Parade being the main event will hold at the Eagle Square on 1st October at 8.30am afterwards, a Special Jumat Service will hold at the National Mosque Abuja by 2pm.
