President Muhammadu Buhari has directed security agencies to ensure that next month’s governorship election in Anambra State is peacefully conducted.

The President gave the directive in Abuja on Thursday after a security council meeting he presided over.

Relaying the outcome of the meeting to State House correspondents, the National Security Adviser, retired Major General Babagana Monguno, President Buhari told them to stamp the feet of authority, and ensure the success of the November 6 election.

He explained that allowing chaos to mar the election would encourage other sections with similar motives to imitations The antecedents.

The National Security Adviser said they had engaged the leadership of the southeast to prevail on the trouble-makers to prevent avoidable chaotic situations during he election.
