Following the not-too-impressive performance posted by Nigeria’s Super Eagles on match-day 3 of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, the team has dropped two places in the latest FIFA ranking.

To the surprise of football fans across the globe, Nigeria senior men’s football team suffered a 0-1 home defeat to the Central African Republic at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

Though the three-time African champions came out victorious in reversed fixtures played a few days later but that could be counted for little.

The latest ranking released on Thursday morning dropped Nigeria from the 34th position it was in September to the 36th position in the World.

Despite dropping two places the team was able to maintain its 5th position in the African ranking.

The 3-time African champions must do enough to maintain their position in the top 5 by the end of November as World Soccer governing body as said the month ranking will use for aeeding in the playoff round of the world cup qualifier.
