The Federal Government has revealed that a major sponsor of the Yoruba nation agitator, Mr. Sunday Adeyemo, also known as Sunday Igboho, is a member of the National Assembly.

The Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mr. Abubakar Malami stated this during a media briefing in Abuja.

Mr. Malami said the secessionist, who was currently in the custody of authorities in the Republic of Benin, had about 43 accounts in nine different banks.

Mr. Malami said the development was uncovered by a committee set up by the Federal Government to unravel how igboho got monies to sponsor the Yoruba nation agitation.

Similarly, the Federal Government has accused the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, of using online Radio Biafra to instigate violence that led to the death of over 170 security personnel and several other citizens.

Mr. Malami alleged that Mazi Kanu also used the media platform to incite members of the group to commit violent attacks against civil and democratic institutions across the country, especially the latest attack on traditional rulers who were having a meeting in the South East Geopolitical Zone.

The Attorney General however called on countries who were aiding and facilitating Mazi Kanu’s campaign against the state of Nigeria and her people to desist from such acts.
