Nigeria will overcome its energy generation challenge with efforts geared towards the green energy utilization to curtail the harmful effects of climate change.

A Professor of fuel and Analytical Chemistry Helen Ogunsuyi made the remark while delivering FUTA 138th inaugural lecture in Akure tagged: Green Energy: Panacea To sustainable Energy And Chemicals In Nigeria.

Professor Ogunsuyi spoke on fortifying the production of non renewable energy across the nation and conversion of wood dust and agricultural crops residues into fuels to reduce high dependent on fire wood which constitute a huge climate change through green house gas emissions.

She charged the stakeholders to embark on massive enlightenment campaigns on the merits of utilising green energy to reduce the effects of climate change.

Appraising the educational pursuits of Professor Ogunsuyi during the lecture, FUTA Vice Chancellor Professor Joseph Fuwape represented by a Deputy Vice Chancellor, Professor Deji Ogunsemi submitted that Professor Ogunsuyi had contributed immensely to knowledge through her numerous educational works.

Dignitaries including the wife of ondo state governor Mrs Betty-Anyanwu Akeredolu graced the event.
