Men of the State’s Security Network Agency also known as Amotekun Corps have arrested eighteen suspected bandits allegedly planning to invade the state with over 500 dangerous weapons.
The suspected bandits were arrested in Ondo town, headquarters of Ondo West Local Government Area of the State.
Parading the suspects, the Commander of Amotekun Corps in the State, Chief Adetunji Adeleye said the suspects took off from Kastina State before arriving the Ondo State inside three 18-seater passenger buses.
According to the Commander of Amotekun in the State, Chief Adetunji Adeleye, the bandits stormed the state with claims that they did not know what was in the bags.
He added that two of the buses escaped while his men were able to intercept one of the buses after escaping from different checkpoints before they were arrested in Ondo town.
He said the suspects concealed different seizes of knives, swords and guns inside tiger nuts bags.
Chief Adeleye said the suspects would be prosecuted while the corps were on the trail of those escaped.
