Charity begins at home.

So says the popular adage.

This explains the resolve of Ilutitun Development Union IDU Akure chapter to honour one of their own, Nigerian International Wrestler Odunayo Adekuoroye for her achievements in sports over the years within and at the global level.

Presenting the award of excellence to the Ondo State born wrestler, Chairman at the occasion, Professor Kole Ogunbamerun opined that every parent should strive to bequeath the right legacy to their children noting that the achievements of Adekuoroye had the inputs of her parents.

The chairman, planning committee of IDU and the Public relations officer of Akure chapter, Mr Olushola Ebiwonjumi and Morakinyo Akinyemi commended the ilutitun born wrestler for her giant strides urging her to do more for the nation in her chosen career.

Responding, the award recipient, Miss Adekuoroye appreciated members of IDU for conferring such honour on her noting that the award would serve as morale booster for her.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan had in 2014 conferred on Adekuoroye a national honour of Member Order of the Niger, MON,

She is also a recipient of Nigeria sports person award for the years 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The Ilutitun,Ondo state born Odunayo Adekuoroye further received the Best female Africa wrestler award in Tunisia 2019, member Athletic commission United world wrestling organization 2017 till date among others.
