Ondo state government says it will commence revalidation of commercial motorcycles and the operators across the state

The senior special Assistant, SSA to governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on special duties and strategy, Dr Doyin Odebowale revealed this while addressing Journalists at a sensitization meeting with commercial motorcycles operators popularly known as okada in Akure.

Dr Odebowale explained that the registration put in place to strengthen security across the state would begin in a couple of weeks

The SSA pointed out that events had overtaken the previous registration due to change of addresses, motorcycle ownerships among other reasons

 

Dr Odebowale who said the state government was committed to improving the welfare of the cyclists however frowned at their nonchalance particularly the raising of headlamps, even at night

Some of the cyclists described the proposed revalidation exercise as timely to further nip crime in the bud.
