A former Commissioner for Agric in Ondo state, Pastor Olusegun Aiyerin has applauded the illustrious sons, daughters, residents and friends of Ilutitun Morubodo kingdom in Okitipupa local government for their robust donations at the one hundred million naira fund raising for the on-going modern central palace project which climaxed the 2021 Morubodo Day Celebrations.

Pastor Ayerin, a one time chairman of Okitipupa local government and also the   Secretary of Morubodo Development Council expressed satisfaction with the large turnout of people at the event saying this year’s celebration remained the best ever in terms of quality of crowd, donations and other deliverables.

The former commissioner appreciated the  Chairperson of the day who is also the Secretary to Ondo state government, Princess Oladuni Odu, Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Hon. Igbekele Akinrinwa and his wife Mrs. Idowu Akinrinwa, Chairman of the day, Engr. Deji Ogunsoto, the chief launcher and the Araba of Igbobini, Ambassador Olusola Iji as well Barr Morayo Lebi.

Speaking on the efforts of the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu-led administration to industrialise the state and okitipupa local council in particular, Pastor Aiyerin said the recent appointment of  Directors to Boards of some comatose companies was a right step in the right direction.

He particularly appreciated the steps towards revamping the Okitipupa Oil Palm Company (OOPC) Plc and take the one time money spinner to its glorious days after the demise of Oluwa Glass Plc.

Pastor Aiyerin said with the appointment of Directors to the Board of Ore-Irele Oil Palm Ltd, the presence and involvement of government could now be visibly seen in Board policy formulation, implementation by management and human resources matters of the company.

The former council boss pointed out that all of these had remained elusive since Messers CPL held sway as majority shareholder, having acquired the 60% of Federal Government shareholding, leaving Ondo State with 25%, 10% to Irele, Okitipupa and Odigbo local governments and only 5% to Nigeria Joint Agency Ltd.

Pastor Aiyerin also gave kudos to Governor Akeredolu on the Ondo-Linyi industrial park initiative which had given birth to several productive factories and in return, created thousands of employments opportunities.
