The Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology, Dr. Rabe Nasir has been killed by unknown assailants at his residence in Fatima Shema Quarters in Katsina metropolis.
Confirming the incident at the deceased’s residence, the state commissioner of police, Sunusi Buba explained that the commissioner was killed on Wednesday night but the crime was not detected until Thursday afternoon.
He said the deceased’s body had been evacuated to the Federal Medical Centre, Katsina, as investigations had commenced in earnest to unravel the circumstances behind the assassination.
The Police Commissioner explained that so far one person has been arrested in connection with the murder, as police detectives have swung into action.
Aged 61, Dr. Rabe Nasir was until his death the Katsina State Commissioner for Science and Technology.
He had also served as the Member Representing Mani/Bindawa at the federal House of Representatives from 2007 to 2011.
Dr. Nasir had also worked with the Department of State Services, DSS, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
