The Director General of the national orientation agency (NOA) Dr Garba Abari has again challenged Nigerians to always provide necessary information to law enforcement agencies that could help in tackling the incessant crime rate in the country.
Dr Abari gave the advice during a town hall meeting on national security and re-orientation program organized by the National orientation Agency Ondo state directorate at the federal secretariat Igbatoro, Akure.
Delivering his key note address, the Director, National Orientation Agency Ondo state Mrs Adelayo Adefolalu emphasized the need for parents, politicians and the traditional institutions to redouble their efforts in teaching their kids morals to end issues of kidnappings, political, thuggery, rape among others in the country.
Delivering a brief lecture on security challenges and solution, NSCDC commandant in Ondo state Dr Ahmed Abodurin challenged Nigerians to be security conscious and always assist military and paramilitary organizations to rid the nation of its numerous security issues.
Dr Abodunrin also advised Nigerians to take advantage of the latest technological appliances such as CCTV, pens, padlocks and emergency numbers to help in checking crime in the country.
In the second lecture ACN Joyifous Yetunde from the NDLEA called for sensitization and family support in tackling the issues of drug abuse in the state and nation at large.
The Olujigba of Ijigba, Dr Luyi Rotimi who spoke on behalf of the royal fathers present at the event, called on parents to train their children well for a peaceful society.
Among those who graced the occasion were securities agents, academics, students, Religious and Traditional rulers, heads of organizations including the General Manager Positive FM Akure, Mr Tunde Abiodun.
