With a view to encouraging self reliance among nigerian youths and make the yuletide a funfair, Ondo state government wants interested upcoming artistes to feature in a concert tagged “Sunshine countdown,” slated for Adegbemile Hall in Akure.

Addressing newsmen in Akure, the commissioner for information and orientation, Mr Donald Ojogo said Sunshine countdown was to enhance the social status of the state.

Mr Ojogo explained that the show was also to empower people through talent development and hospitality.

The commissioner however hinted  security among other logistics had been put in place to make the countdown hitch free

Also speaking, senior special Assistant to the governor on youth empowerment, Mr Lekan Afolabi pointed out that the event was to celebrate and bring the state to entertainment world

Mr Afolabi encouraged youths, artistes and cultural troupes interested in showcasing their talents to come be part of the competitive event slated for Wednesday 22nd and Thursday 23rd December at Adegbemile Hall in Akure.

Earlier, the organiser, Mr Gbemileke Oyinsan had maintained that Saheed Osupa, Tuface, lanre Teriba, Funmi Aragbaye, Ayo Rawlings among other artistes had been invited for the first sunshine countdown taking place at the MKO Abiola Democracy park Akure on the new year Eve into January 1 2022.
