Stay Safe, Support National Effort And Be Optimistic For 2022 – Ondo APC New Year Message.
A new year always bring with it a renewed sense of optimism and hope for a brighter future. The APC shares this feeling of optimism which is grounded on the measurable progress the state has made over the past five years under the visionary leadership of the APC-led administration of Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in Ondo State.
As the people have demonstrated to the entire world their resolve, unity of purpose and commitment to their democratic choice in the last gubernatorial election which the highest court in the land, like the two lower courts under it, also, attested to in their three respective judgments in 2021 is testimony to it that the right choice was made in the party and in its leadership.
Therefore, we hope the opposition party will stand down politics and come to terms to appreciate the efforts that the governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Odunayo Akeredolu, SAN, has made to develop the state, so quickly, in spite of the limited resources available to it. In addition, to have join hands with him as partners in progress.
In this new year, we will begin a new era in the development and growth of our state. We will continue with the drive for its modernisation and democratization in renewed strength. We hope from now on, it will be the state first while politics takes the back seat.
As a progressive party we will never take the people for granted, we respect the power of the people, we will always think of the reasons we got on the saddle to lead the state and do those things for which we have won the trust of the electorate. We shall never let them down or take them for a ride. This is not just a promise, but a commitment we are bound to.
As a nation, this is a time we must unite more than ever to resolve, peacefully, those issues faced by our society and our country. We live in a turbulent, contradictorial time, but we can and must do everything for our nation to develop successfully, so that everything in our life changes for the best.
As we say goodbye to 2021, we can also turn the page on the division, rancour and uncertainty which have dominated our political space and have held us back for far too long.
Our country like other major economies of the world are currently suffering from major economic setback due to the outbreak of the variants type of corona virus that has beset mankind; as the past twelve months were much tough, but there are reasons for optimism as a nation to hope for greater days ahead.
One thing we can always celebrate as a nation is that we live in the most amazing nation on earth and our wonderful resilient spirit is not found anywhere else in the world – indication that we will always overcome whatever challenges we face.
The government on its part is striving on all fronts to make sure we get through this tough times together bearing on its various palliatives measures, incentives and provisions of vaccines across all the states and for all strata of the society.
As a progressives politicians, we put the welfare of the people first as we are of the belief that the strength of the society should not be measured on the basis of the strength of the most affluent citizens, but through the stamina of the most vulnerable of its people to cope with the difficulty of life.
Therefore, it is with a profound sense of joy and optimism that I project to you the greetings and the good wishes of the Chairman of the party in Ondo State, Engr Ade Adetimehin, that the New Year will bring good tidings to all the people of the Sunshine State.
It is our hope in the party that the new year brings serenity and the spirit of goodwill as we continue to charter the path towards growth and development in keeping with our party’s vision.
Our party in the New Year will continue to remain a critical partner in the development of Ondo State and its people.
We call on all our party members and citizens to try to focus on the possibilities that a new year offers. Let us try to erase whatever personal hurt or pain of the year 2021 from our memory. Let us concentrate on the joy, the happiness and the prosperity inherent in the new year.
