A philanthropist, Olabode Ijalana has donated food items and cash gifts to the Ondo State School for the Visually Impaired, Owo to complement government’s effort in providing good living condition for students of the school.

The items which included a bag of rice, cartons of noodles, a big iron cooking pot and others were received by assistant head teachers and other members of the school community.

Accompanied by representatives of a PDP Chieftain, Chief Rotimi Ibidapo, his wife, loyalists and supporters, Mr ijalana said the gesture was a demostration of his commitment to making impact on the lives and welfare of others especially the special children who he said deserve care from well meaning individuals in the society.
He said the donation which was to complement government’s effort in the education sector was in line with his passion to give back to the society in his little way.
“I’m from this town, I believe this students deserved better life. So I decided to come here to see them and deliver some times to them. I have also visited my old school and I delivered books to them. This is what I love to do”, he said.
Mr Ijalana explained that similar gestures had been done in other places as his modest contributions to his immediate environment even as he promised to continue his drive towards putting smiles on the faces of the people.
Ijalana who is aspiring to represent owo constituency 1 in the Ondo State House of Assembly in the 2023 legislative election said he has answered the persistent calls of his people to represent them at legislative arm of government.
According to him, “I’m aspiring to represent Owo constituency 1 at the Ondo State House of Assembly. I have something different to offer. I want to make my people happy because they deserve happiness and I promised them that I will take them to the next level.”
Ijalana who promised to leverage on his experience to provide quality representatation said he would attract government presence to his constituency if elected.
Responding, Assistant Head teacher of the school, Mr Eric Oladele expressed gratitude to Mr Ijalana for his generosity saying the gifts especially the big iron pot came at time the school was in dire need of the facility to strengthen their cooking.
While highlighting efforts of the Ondo State government in providing good living condition for students of the school, Mr Oladele appealed to well-to-do individuals and groups to borrow a leaf from Mr Olabode Ijalana’s caring heart and assist the special school.
