The Chairman of Idanre Local Government Area of Ondo state, Prince Kayode Aroloye has called on government at all levels and highly spirited individuals to take proper care of orphans and widows left behind by those who paid the ultimate price while defending the nation.
Prince Aroloye was speaking at the grand finale of the 2022 Armed forces and remembrance day held at the secretariat of Idanre Local Government.
The council boss enjoined Nigerians to give succour to those left behind by the fallen heroes so that they don’t suffer more than necessary as a result of the sacrifice made by their breadwinners.
He traced various exploits made in the past, within and outside the nation by the departed heroes and said the wounded ones should also be well rehabilitated.
He used the occasion to praise the Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (SAN) for using the Amotekun Security Outfit to tackle insecurity in Ondo State while he also commended President Muhammad Buhari for fighting the Boko Haram sect and other groups posing threats to the peace and unity of the country.
Prince Aroloye called on the people to ensure that they go for their COVID 19 vaccination.
According to him ” it is said that the Omicron strain is deadlier than the COVID 19 earlier known”
Earlier, the, Divisional Police Officer in Idanre, Mr. Clement Akinola, the Chairman of the Nigerian Legion in Idanre Local Government and the Owa of Idanre, Oba Frederick Aroloye had laid wreaths in honour of the fallen heroes.
