For Nigeria democracy to attain enviable height, inducement in all ramifications must be eradicated.
This was the submission of a former Commissioner in Ondo State, Hon Niran Sule while speaking with newsmen in Akure, Ondo State capital.
Hon Niran Sule while enumerating the damages inducement had caused in Nigeria politics said until the trend is removed from the Nation’s political climate it will be difficult to have credible elections.
” Once you received inducement in any form from a politician, you have sold your conscience and may not be able to hold such political office holder accountable in the event of neglect or failure to fulfil his electoral promises.
Hon Niran Sule cautioned electorate to avoid allowing financial inducement to influence their behaviour and the choice they make in the 2023 elections.
The former commissioner opined that Nigeria would get it right if the process allows credible candidates to emerged for every elective positions.
He urged all political actors to play the game according to the rules.
Hon Sule also appealed to the election umpire, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to allow a level playing field for all aspirants and candidates that will emerge from political parties primaries.
