Monday 31st of January, 2022 which happened to be the last day of the month was not pleasant for residents of Agbaluku Arigidi Akoko and the travellers passing through Ikare Arigidi Ikaram Akunu to the northern part of the country.
This is because a luxury bus fully loaded with passengers coming from Abuja caught fire, burning to ashes at Agbaluku Arigidi Akoko and caused gridlock on both sides of the road.
The passengers belongings were burnt to ashes as people could not move near the inferno.
An eyewitness mr Jamiu Alli called on the state government to resuscitate and make Ikare Akoko fire station functional.
He noted that the none functional of the station was responsible for the big loss and others that had happened in Akokoland.
The unit commander of road safety for Ikare Akoko Mr Oluropo Alabi said his men were making efforts to clear the road from gridlock for travelers not to be stranded.
No life was lost to the fire incident as at the time of filing this report.
