A businessman, Mr Mayokun Lawson-Alade has won the All progressives congress APC bye-election ahead of the February 26th general election into the vacant seat of the Akure north/South federal constituency.
Lawson-Alade polled 305 votes to beat other contestants.
His closest rival, Hon Omowumi Ohwovoriole had 196 votes, Ademola Adegoroye 66, Hon Ifedayo Abegunde aka Abena 56 Fadairo 43, Abiodun 16, Hon Sunday Olajide had 13 Votes, Owoyemi 4.
Total votes cast was 702 with 3 voided votes.
Declaring the winner, the Chairman electoral committee and deputy governor of Anambra state, Mr Nkem Okeke said the election process was peaceful charging other aspirants to unite ahead of the February 26th election.
The exercise which took place at the Dome, Igbatoro Akure had eight aspirants contesting for the same seat.
The election became necessary following the demise of Mr Isaac Adedayo Omolafe (PDP) house of Representatives member representing Akure north/south federal constituency.
