Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State says zoning presidency to the South will be an injustice to the North.
Speaking in Abuja with State House correspondents, Governor Bello noted that the South had held the presidency more than the North had done since 1999.
Reacting to Ohanaeze Ndigbo’s clamour for the presidency to be zoned to the Southeast, Governor Bello explained that the North-Central, which has been the most marginalised since 1960, is most deserving of the presidency come 2023.
The Governor, who came to brief President Buhari on the state of security in his state, explained that the North-Central had never produced President nor Vice President of the country, stressing that it is only proper that the region produced the next President.
While calling on the media to give maximum coverage to the successes the Federal Government has achieved in tackling insecurity, Governor Bello said he would soon make known his intention to run for the presidency in 2023.
