Akure metropolis was agog on Monday as the Peoples Democratic Party candidate in Saturday 26th February, 2022 bye-election into the Akure North/South Federal constituency, Barrister Olumuyiwa Lucky Adu and some prominent PDP stalwart stormed major streets in the capital city to launch campaign into the poll.
Addressing a mammoth crowd at Oja-Oba in Akure, Barrister Adu urged members of the constituency to vote for him enmasse promising to continue with the legacies left behind by honourable Adedayo Omolafe a.ka Expensive.
He said he would also ensure that both Akure North and Akure South local governments were given utmost priority in terms of infrastructure and human developments.
The campaign moved through nooks and crannies of popular areas of Akure namely Adesida, Hospital road, Arakale, Oja-Isinkan, Bye-pass, Ilesha motor park and back to his campaign office at Oyemekun road, Akure.
On the campaign train was the gubernatorial candidate of Peoples Democratic Party in the last year governorship election, Barrister Eyitayo Jegede ( SAN).
At Isinkan Market Barrister Jegede appreciated the unprecedented crowd and supporters for coming out in their number to welcome the campaign team and promised that if Barrister Adu emerges victorious after the election, he would not disappoint them adding that he would carry out people oriented programmes and policies.
Also in attendance were Director- General of Adu Campaign Organization Comrade Gbenga Jegede and other notable PDP leaders from both Akure North and Akure South.
