The Federal Government is to provide digital services capacity building Programmes for over 10,000 Internally Displaced Persons, Refugees and migrants over the year.
The Director General of the National Information Technology Development Agency, NITDA, Kashifu Abdullahi stated this at the inaugural launch of a capacity building Programme for IDPs in Abuja and environs.
Mallam Abdullahi said the capacity building in digital skills is meant to empower the IDPs to be self reliant.
Mallam Abdullahi said many great minds in the global ICT sector, developed interest and flair through similar training bootcamps.
Mallam Abdullahi said NITDAs partnership with the National Commission for Migrants, Refugees, and Internally Displaced Persons to further harness the present administration ‘s digital Nigeria Master plan.
The Federal Commissioner for National Commission for Migrants, Refugees, and Internally Displaced Persons, Hajia Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim said the Programme was apt as it would assist the IDPs to be reintegrated into society while being self reliant.
Hajia Suleiman- Ibrahim said the training for the 10,000 IDPs would be done in batches, while starter kits and logistics will be made available.
Over 200 beneficiaries are to be trained at the end of the two day program.
