As scarcity of fuel bites harder in ondo state, residents have appealed to the federal government find a lasting solution to the crisis.
They made the appeal when Positive fm monitored the fuel situation in akure the capital city.
As early as half past six in the morning long queue were spotted in few petrol station at Onyearugbulem, Roadblock,Oyemekun road, ondo road,Oba Ile ,Alagbaka, and Oda road, all in akure.
All the stations visited sold fuel between one hundred and sixth five naira and two hundred naira per liter.
Unlike last week when some filling stations had fuel but dispensed above approved pump price, just a few now had the product.
Some motorists who spoke with radio Nigeria lamented the hardship the fuel scarcity had brought upon them.
Two commercial drivers Oluwadara Arogundade and Rotimi Fadare said parking at filling station to buy fuel every morning had affected their business.
A business woman Mrs Toyin Adu noted that the fuel scarcity had led to high cost of foods and also affected small scale business negatively.
Two other residents Mrs Abel Arowolo and Bayo Fagbamila blamed the situation on the bad state of the nation’s refineries urging the federal government to make them functional so that fuel scarcity could become history in the country.
The people also urged petrol dealers to desist from hoarding the product in the interest of the masses.
Efforts to get reactions of some petrol dealers were unsuccessful as they all declined comments
