Ondo bye–election: INEC commences distribution of sensitive materials

The independent national electoral commission, INEC on Wednesday began distribution of sensitive materials for the Akure North/ Akure South federal constituency bye election holding on Saturday.

The electoral materials included ballot papers, voting results, replacement and Declaration sheets.

Addressing newsmen at central bank of Nigeria in Akure, venue for the distribution, the Ondo State resident electoral commissioner, Ambassador Rufus Akeju said INEC was committed to conducting credibly free, fair and conclusive election.

Dr Akeju explained that the materials were enough for the conduct of the bye-election taking place in the two council areas.

Also speaking, the INEC national commissioner incharge of the south west, professor Kunle Ajayi assured that the bye-election taking place between half past eight in the morning and half past two in the afternoon would be rancour-free.

Present at the distribution venue were Festus Aregbesola of All Progressives Congress, Jenyo Ataunoko (rrrrr) National Rescue Movement, Mr Taiwo Akintade of the People’s Democratic Party who all expressed satisfaction over the electoral materials.
