As Nigeria joins the rest of the World to mark this year’s Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, Nigerians have been charged to always consult healthcare providers for the right diet that will enhance their health status.

The National President of the Institute for Dietetics in Nigeria (IDN), Mr Tajudeen Olutope-Ahmed gave the advice in an interview with Positive fm in commemoration of the day.

Mr Olutope-Ahmed said dietitians and Nutritionists were in the best position to educate people especially adults on eating habit that would give them healthy living.

He blamed the recent World Health Organisation, WHO data on high rate of Obesity among Africans, on bad eating habit which professional Dietitian Nutritionists could address perfectly when contacted.

Mr Olutope-Ahmed noted that the day was set aside to sensitize the public on the importance of the experts and the need to embrace global culture that highlights the expertise of registered dietitian nutritionists.

The Registered Dietitian Nutritionist Day, is commemorated every second Wednesday of March and the theme, for this year is “Celebrate a World of Flavors”,
