As 2023 general election draw near, Religious leaders in Ondo state have been charged to embark on massive sensitisation of eligible members to obtain their permanent voters cards, PVC.
Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ondo State chapter, Bishop Kolawole Opayinka gave the charge in Akure as the Christian body commenced sensitisation of members and the citizenry on the need to get registered for their PVC.
Speaking with newsmen, Bishop Opayinka explained that PFN embarked on the exercise to ensure citizens use their voting power to effect good governance in the country especially as the nation prepares for another general election.
Also speaking, Two PFN leaders, Bishop Olugbenga Odusoga and Reverend Tunde Ogunsuyi said the sensitisation became necessary considering low turn out of voters and poor participation of the people in electoral process.
INEC Assistant Electoral officer (operations) Akure South, Mr Tope Onajobi, charged the ministers of God to encourage their congregations to get registered and collect their PVC in the ongoing continuous registration exercise before June deadline.
